Truncate all vertexes of a Platonic polyhedron at 1/3 of the edges.

    Similar to truncated polyhedra, but it's truncated at 1/2 of the edges. And 5 Platonic Polyhedra only generate 2 new polyhedra.
    3.3.3 -> 3.3.3.3
    4.4.4 -> 3.3.4.4
    3.3.3.3 -> 3.3.4.4
    3.3.3.3.3 -> 3.3.5.5
    5.5.5 -> 3.3.5.5

    Imaging pull out the faces of 2 type of regular polyhedra that are not constituted by triangles( 4,4,4 and 5.5.5 ), then twist lefthand a little, then add triangles in the gap, then you get a kinds of Snub polyhedra. Twist righthand, and you get anothor kinds.
